This vibrant tureen was part of a John & William Ridgway dessert service. The molded tendrils distinguish it from the dinner service of the same pattern number.. It is about 7-1/4" high, and the base about 7-1/4" wide.

The cover with flower finial, and the tureen are both in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs.

The pattern is Ridgway's #993. It is marked with that pattern number, and "IRONSTONE CHINA", one of the "anonymous" marks mentioned by Geoffrey Godden in his book "Godden's Guide to Ironstone", and identified by K. Church.

Note: We have a matching small tray available.
