I love researching my finds! This creamer was identified by the newly released digital Minton Pattern Book, and two photos of its shape in Michael Berthoud's " A Cabinet of British Creamers", pages 59 and 62.
This "Old Oval Shape" creamer is 3-7/8" high and 4-7/8" wide. It is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. The gilding is 98% intact. The piece rings when tapped.
The creamer dates c 1800-1804. In 1805 Minton started using the "pseudo Sèvres" mark. This creamer is marked only with the pattern number: "No. 73" hand painted in red.
