This gorgeous 10" plate has a most unusual molded edge. It is heavily gilded. The gadroon edge has what looks like a sheaf of wheat, scrolls and flowers. This is a great example of "English Imari".
The plate is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing, and no repairs. The "Japan Pattern" is heavily gilded, with very little wear. There is a small area of discoloration along the interior edge. See the last photo. The plate rings when tapped.
The almost illegible impressed mark reads: MASON'S PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA. This mark dates the plate 1813-26.
