These pretty 8-1/2" plates were made by Ashworth Brothers about 1877. The pattern is a much older one made by their precursor Mason's in the 1830's. The Mason's Collectors Club calls this pattern "Fence and Muscove Ducks".
The plates are "shaped" (have a shaped edge), and there is much gilding. The condition is excellent. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. There are some slight utensil marks, and some wear to the gilding. The plates ring when tapped, and display nicely.
Most of the plates are marked on the bottom with the printed British Royal Arms, impressed REAL IRONSTONE CHINA, and has the Ashworth pattern number B 3621 hand painted in red. This Ashworth mark is shown in the book: "The Raven Mason Collection" on page 143, plate 179. Note: some of the plates are lacking the pattern number.
The price listed is for the set of six. I have an additional 7th plate being offered for sale separately.
