This rare Penwork decorated fireplace bellows is "Boudoir" size: about 14-1/2" long. The central medallion is a Chinoiserie scene. That is surmounted by large, fierce looking eagle with a crown. The bellows dates to the Regency Period, c 1820.
As you can see, there are various nicks, chips, and scratches to the Penwork decoration. The back evidently had some cruder form of decoration, but that is mostly worn away. This piece was evidently in use for much of its life. The bellows produces some air, but there is one hole in the leather.
