This early Mason's Patent Ironstone China small plate (7-1/2") was decorated in a vibrant oriental pattern with a tree peony and sprigs of other flowers. It was transfer printed and then hand painted with dark green, iron red, pink and other colors. There is gilding on the borders. The pattern is called "Tree Peony".
The plate is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. It rings when tapped. It is impressed with 'Mason's Patent Ironstone China' linear mark, which was used c1813-1820.
