This large (10") plate will spark up any room! It was made by Copeland & Garrett soon after they took over the Spode Works in 1833. Spode had an earlier version of this pattern, and both companies called it "Worcester Wheel". This version is much livelier than the plain blue and white version. It was made in the "New Fayence" body c 1835.

The plate is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing, no wear to the gilding, and no repairs. It rings (like earthenware) when tapped.

It has three marks on the back. 1.) Blue printed Copeland & Garrett Late Spode 2.) Impressed Copeland & Garrett New Fayence 12 3. The pattern number 5519 over x painted in red.

Note: the white areas toward the right of the plate are simply light reflections.
