This is a most unusual form for Kutani porcelain. There are 38 ridges (or flutes) around the body, which was made in a quatrefoil shape. It is entirely hand painted. The infuser is removable.
The teapot is about 4-1/2" high and 6-1/2" wide.
The only damage is to the inner mouth of the teapot, which shows chips.
The handle, spout, infuser, and the rest of the teapot are all in excellent condition. All 3 pieces (teapot, lid, and infuser) ring when tapped.
There are some red marks on the base which may be kanji, but they have been worn away over the years, and are illegible.
