This unusual pickle dish form came to me with the matching pieces of an incomplete supper set. It is 5-1/8" at it widest point.

The pattern is an early Chinoiserie floral pattern called "Basket". It can be seen in the Transferware Collectors Club data base, and other places on the internet. The pattern can also be seen in Geoffrey H. Priestman's "An Illustrated Guide to Minton Printed Pottery 1796-1836".

The pottery dish is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. It rings when tapped. It was difficult to photograph, as the finish is so glassy. I date it c. 1815.
