This fancy porcelain cup and saucer set is in the Coalport's "Adelaide" shape, and dates between 1831-1840. The ground is a soft celadon gray, and there is much gilding.
The cup is 2-3/4" high. The saucer's diameter is 6".
Both cup and saucer are in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. There is no wear to the design or the gilding. Each piece rings when tapped.
Both cup and saucer are marked with the pattern number, 3/250, hand written in gold. Both shape and pattern number are Coalport's. The shape can be found in Michael Berthoud's book "A Compendium of British Cups" on page 150, plates 895 & 896.
