This is a small, hand painted cup with handle, and its matching saucer. The cup is only 1-3/4" high, with a 2 inch diameter. It would make a good demitasse. The saucer's diameter is almost 5" (4-7/8" to be precise).
The saucer is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is only the tiniest bit of wear to the gilding. The cup is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is heavy wear to the gilding at the lip of the cup.
Both cup and saucer are marked with the Satsuma mon and the maker's kanji. I believe the set was made in the early 20th century.
