A fabulous canary yellow border sets off this charming plate which features Chinese children at play. It's black transferware painted with brightly colored enamels. 10" diameter. This plate's decorative quality rates a 10!
The British Registry number is 664915, which dates it about 1919. The pattern number is hand painted in red: C 3175. The printed mark reads "Bisto", and is Godden's mark number 386, for Bishop & Stonier of Staffordshire.
The plate is in very good condition. There are no chips, no cracks, and no repairs. There is crazing to both the front and the back. The plate does not ring when tapped.
