Although not technically baskets, these North-Eastern Indian Birch Bark Containers are always grouped with the baskets in museums. This nice old covered container has a well-fitted lid and a simple curved handle on the top. There are 3 large bark appliques on the sides, and 3 on the cover.
The top is 7-1/4" in diameter. The height is 5-1/4" (not including the handle).
The condition is excellent, with only one small tight split on the base of the basket.
