This lovely early dish was very hard to photograph because it's so heavily gilded. The overall pattern is gold seaweed, with a central hand painted landscape scene. It has scalloped edges and a single pierced handle.
The dish is 8-3/4" x 8". It is unmarked except for the pattern number on the back in gold. It reads either 1169 x or x 6911. I date it c.1825.
The condition is excellent. There is no wear to the gilding. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is the usual crazing seen on wares of this type. The dish rings when tapped.
