Antique English Toy Plate, Blue and White, 19th C HackwoodAntique English Toy Plate, Blue and White, 19th C HackwoodAntique English Toy Plate, Blue and White, 19th C Hackwood

This pattern seems to have been used exclusively by Hackwood, and only on toy dinner services. It dates about 1845.

There were several Hackwoods potting in Staffordshire at that time, but the consensus is William Hackwood as the potter of this pattern.

The tiny plate is 3-3/8" in diameter. The condition is fine, with no cracks, and only 2 tiny nicks on the foot rim. There are 3 (in the making) stilt marks on the borders of the front of the plate. There is overall crazing. This plate is not marked.

Information and a photo of the plate are on page 189 of "The Dictionary of Blue & White Printed Pottery" Volume 1, by Coysh & Henrywood.
