What a striking transferware design! A pinwheel of geometric flowers surround the center floral medallion. The colors are light and dark blue, orange, red, and a touch of green. The plate is just under 10" in diameter.
The condition is very good, with no chips, no cracks, no repairs, and only light crazing on the back. The only wear to the decoration is on the interior edge (before the well of the plate), which likely is a result of stacking.
The plate is marked with an impressed "WEDGWOOD", the handwritten pattern number A 4446, and the impressed date mark JXV for 1869. This was at the very beginning of the Aesthetic Movement in England.
