A beautiful hand painted landscape plate in pristine condition, with a named view of "Derwent Water Cumberland". The diameter is 9" (23 cm). As you know, "named views" are scarce and quite sought after.
Excellent condition, with no chips, no cracks, no crazing, no repair, and no wear to the gilding or elsewhere. No scratches to the central landscape. The plate rings when tapped.
There is no maker's mark on the back. Hand written in red script on the back: Derwent Water Cumberland. I date this plate c.1840 or earlier.
