This early turned wood bowl is seriously out of round. Its diameter measures 8-1/4" in some places and 8-1/2" in others. It is 3-3/4" high in places, and less in others. There are decorative lines on parts of the exterior that are entirely worn off in places. The brass plate repairs a crack or break. The plate has copper rivets.
Best of all, the bowl has the date 1780, carved in the base.
