This attractive large blue and white plate is transfer printed in the pattern known as "Real Old Canton", or "Ashworth Canton". It was made by G. L. Ashworth & Bros., manufacturers of Mason's Ironstone from 1862.
The 9" plate is in very good condition. It has no chips, no cracks, no repairs, and it rings when tapped. The center of the plate shows heavy wear and utensil marks. However, as you can see, it still displays well and is quite decorative. This plate was made between 1891 and 1923.
