This fine quality vase is from a line of superior Art Pottery produced at the Langley Mill Pottery in Derbyshire, England. It was made from Derbyshire stoneware clay. It has a cobalt glazed neck and a "dimpled" gray-blue body decorated with enamels and touches of gold. It stands 8-1/4" high.
The marks on the base read: Lovatt Langley Mill England LEADLESS GLAZE Patent No. 8687 . The glaze patent 8687 was obtained in 1908, and Osborne Ware was added to Lovatt's production about then.
Condition? The lip of this vase has been repaired, and the repair is visible. Please see ENLARGED photos 7 and 8. I'm sure it could be repaired invisibly. No other problems.
PLEASE NOTE: the body of the vase is more gray than blue. The lighting in some of the photos makes it look more blue than it is. The neck is a very dark cobalt blue.
