Antique English mid-19th C plate in a scarce multi-color or Gaudy Willow Variant pattern with black transfers and over-glaze enamels in red, pink green, salmon, and brown. It measures about 8-3/4" in diameter.

This plate is pearlware, with blue glaze pooling at the foot rim.

The pattern and border exactly match the Transferware Collectors Club photo of the "Pekin" pattern by George Frederick Bowers, of Tunstall, Staffordshire. The pottery company was in business from 1842 to 1868. However, there are no identifying marks on the back of this plate.

Condition: Two small glaze chips to the edge (enlargement shown in the last photo). Some wear to the enamel overglaze. Multiple utensil marks. No cracks, no repairs. It displays nicely.
