There is something curious about jewelry featuring the hand. Somehow we are attracted to gems such as this charmer and keep coming back to this playful version before deciding to offer it for your pleasure.
It sits in its original box and came to us this way many years ago. The hand holds a small gold heart shape fitted with a tiny genuine ruby. The ring finger holds a tiny rose cut diamond. Around the wrist we see a dangling chain fitted with a tiny heart shaped charm. A fancy gold cuff completes the design. The creativity suits this Victorian charmer.
The reverse is hallmarked with the city of origin--Chester and the .375 gold value. There is a makers mark "A&C" but we were not able to identify the maker. There is a date mark as well which we are unable to read. The brooch measures 1 1/2 inch side to side and is 1/2 inch top to bottom. It weighs 2.2 grams. The "T" pin is original. The "C" clasp has been re-.enforced with solder, bit it does not affect the hand itself. The box is not in the greatest shape but it serves the purpose.
We hope the new owner will enjoy this as much as we have.
