This is a truly lovely amethyst and seed Pearl pendant that dates to the early 1900s. Crafted in 15K gold this Edwardian lavelier was a popular item as day wear for the ladies of the day. It is both delicate and feminine. Although not marked it has been acid tested and guaranteed to be at least 15K gold. It was made in England around 1900 to 1910.
It has an unusual shape and the design is more intricate than many from the time period. The luminous purple amethysts are surrounded by bright white seed pearls. This Edwardian pendant shows off the style and ornamentation that was preferred--sparkling gemstones, romance and wearability.
The pendant measures 2 inches in length including the bale. It is 1 1/2 inch at its widest point. It weighs 4.4 grams. it is shown on a gold chain which is not included. it is best to add your own chain to make it your choice for length.
It is in excellent condition and would be a perfect addition yo your summer wardrobe.
