After decades of shopping for Scottish jewelry, it amazes us to constantly be discovering new designs that we have not seen before. It is a credit to the eye of the designers and the mountains of agate stones to carve and set into silver. Here again is a stunning creation--the bracelet.
Although not marked, as was common, the silver has been tested and is guaranteed to be sterling. The variety of agates in many colors and carvings are excellent together. W have Queen Victoria to thank for her love of Scotland and all the aspects of their history and creativity. She encouraged tourism and visitors were intrigued by the distinctive native stones used in the jewelry. Personally we find these pieces among the best.
The bracelet measures 8 inches in length and is 1 inch at the widest point. The closure is a beautifully shaped lock with one side in etched silver and the other side is agate. The lock works perfectly. The bracelet weighs 25.4 grams. Not commonly seen, the underside of the agates we find a backing in slate that provides strength for the sections of carved agate.
Lovely condition and a worthy addition to you collection or the beginning of a new interest. It will be shipped in a special antique bracelet box.
