The St. Esprit symbol symbol is a dove and in this creation the vision is seen as diving down from the heavens with wide-spread wings. many Victorians believed this symbol reflects the wearer's personal faith. The dove appears to be dangling from an ornate branch. We see another bird and and bow nestled inside the branch. At the bottom there is another branch attached to the bird's shoulders.
The large pendant is made of 800 silver and sparkling paste stones float throughout the design including the body of the dove. On the reverse, there is a tiny mark which we believe is the French silver boar's head. The measures 3 inches in length and is 1 1/2 inch in width. It weighs 11 grams. When worn on a silver chain it presents a dramatic vision as it sways with an impressive glitter. The bale is secure and will hold a reasonable size chain.
It is in excellent condition. We believe there is one replacement stone near the very bottom of the pendant. It is barely visible. All are secure , bright and sparkling. Overall it is a beautiful and is an excellent example of Victorian jewelry.
