Just about every collector of English Victorian jewelry I have met is attracted to or owns an example of the Sterling silver locket we show here. No wonder! These splendid creations were produced with a multitude of designs, sizes and weights. At the time, they were worn for simple adornment and could be purchased without great cost. Many manufactures dotted the English countryside--especially Birmingham centers and there were thousands to choose from the variety.
Whenever we come across a design we haven't had before or one that is in such splendid condition, it is hard to resist. As popularity of these items increases, so does the price. Add a photo or two or any keepsake that will fit the piece and you will show if off with pride. The size of 1 3/4 inches by 1 1/4 inch is easy to wear. An original bale allows for a fairly large chain of your choice. Any marks on the reverse were created by my poor quality photos. The locket itself is in fine antique condition.
