Weeping trees surround the urn which sits atop a blue and gold pedestal The pedestal and urn are enhanced by tiny rose cut diamonds under the glass. Past examples lead us to believe the diamonds have been resin set. The rose gold mounting features a ring of blue-black enamel. The shank is decorated with fine etching.
There is an excellent engraving on the underside of the ring. It reads "George Jackson ob 17 June 1789 AE 58. Having an inscription such as this gives us the best way to authenticate the age of the ring. Collectors of memorial jewelry look for these signs of dating.
The ring is size 7.5 but could be re-sized with care. The top measures 1 inch top to bottom and 5/8 inch east to west. It weighs 6.5 grams. There is a slight leaning of the urn--not unusual for it to be somewhat tired considering its age. Actually, the condition is excellent. It is one of three memorial rings forthcoming
