It has always fascinated us to see the variety of designs used to create thousands of Victorian Period rings commemorating the memory of a loved one. Some are very somber designs and others are of a brighter note. This appears the latter.
The ring has a modified split shank and features a tiny enameled floral design. No doubt the design was on both sides of the shank, but sadly is no longer there. It could be recreated by our super enamel artist or simply left "as is".
The head of the ring exhibits a tiny central ruby, five original seed pearls, a ring of black enamel and a ring of gold. The underside of the head shows a tiny lock of hair in the locket. However, the glass lid of the locket if missing.
The ring is size 5 and weighs 3.6 grams. The head measures 1/2 inch in diameter. It will fairly flat on the finger. It is truly lovely on the hand.
