Here is a terrific antique English ring. It is beautifully made with a tapered shank that is fully engraved. The head is set with six pearls surrounding a glazed locket compartment containing a woven hair momento. It would be easy for a jeweler to remove the hair and set a stone in its place--garnet, amethyst, aqua--or your choice if so desired.
It is excellent quality and very fashionable from the Georgian age. The ring is size 7. The shank is fully engraved and I would not recommend any re-sizing. The head of the ring measures 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch and weighs 4.8 grams. The gold tests 18K (acid tested). There are no identifying marks in the shank. Perhaps the marks were polished off.We note this because the interior has a very high polish.
The pearls are a bit larger than in other similar rings we have pictured. They have a fine ethereal glow. There are three lovely rings for your choice. Each has its own special touch. Enjoy one, two or all three. It might be difficult to select just one.
All are in excellent condition.
