It always delights us when we come upon seed pearl jewelry--especially when they are in good condition. These tiny pearls came mainly from the Orient and India. They were threaded and mounted on carved mother-of pearl backs. Here we offer a pair of earrings of delicate beauty. The workmanship is outstanding and considering the age and fragility of seed pearl jewelry, this pair is to be treasured.
We have had sets (parures) of seed pearl jewelry. However, many collectors look for earrings rather than whole sets. This pair would please any collector. Undoubtedly, they originally had wires. The screw backs were subsituted for someone who did bot have pierced ears. This could easily be corrected by a jeweler who has worked with antique jewelry.
The earrings measure 2 inches in length and 1 inch in width. They weigh 5.1 grams--most comfortable to wear.
They are in outstanding antique condition.
