The term "Mizpah" comes from the Hebrew and means Watchtower. The meaning is sentimental and touching. It is so very appropriate at this time of the year--St Patrick's day, Easter and Passover coming soon. We recall the full meaning "The Lord watch between me and thee when we are absent from one another".
The ring is done in 18K gold clearly indicated in the hallmark which also shows Birmingham as the city of manufacture. The maker is "CyBs" for Coley Brothers. A horseshoe design sits between the letters spelling "Mizpah". Within the horseshoe is a small diamond measuring 2.5mm in diameter. The ring is size 7 but could be re-sized. The ring weighs 3 grams.
The inside of the shank shows someones effort to test the gold. However, it does not affect the ring in any way.
It is a fine antique with a touching sentiment.
