It is amazing to us that there have been hundreds, perhaps thousands, of designs that were created during the Victorian period. here is another charmer to add to your collection. Four tiny cabochon rubies are set in a cross-like pattern and are highlighted by six glowing pearls--three on each side. th rubies and pearls appear to be original to the 15K gold mounting. the shank exhibits a soft pinkish glow and could be called "rose" gold.
The ring is size 6. It could be made larger or smaller. However, I would consult a jeweler who works with antique pieces for advise. The top measures 1/2 inch across and 1/4 inch in width. The weight is 2.9 grams. A partial hallmark remains, the rest has been worn off in time. What is visible is the Chester mark and 15 for the gold content.
It could be worn as a wedding band. The style was typical for brides in the Victorian era.
