Created in the delightful "pansy" design utilizing three pale green chrysoberyls and three tiny amethysts in a swirl mounting of 18K gold. Although the ring is of English origin there are no identifying hallmarks. the gold has been tested and guaranteed to be 18K.
The pale green color of the three major stones is unique to modern jewelry and was prized during the late Georgian and early Victorian period. Although the ring does not have the usual closed back setting associated with Georgian jewelry, this example may be more common to the transition period--late 1830s-40s to early Victorian.
The ring is size 5.5 and could be resized by a competent jeweler. The top measures 3/5 inch in diameter. It has that special sparkle of fine chrysoberyls.
Wonderful antique condition.
