The soft blue-grey of this wonderful "eye" will brighten the day of any collector of this genre of Victorian jewelry. This lovely example is set in a 15K mounting (acid tested and guaranteed) and surrounded by 32 seed pearls.
The "T" pin and "C" clasp are original. We see very slight discoloration on one tiny pearl, but believe it to be original and age may be the only aspect of color change. The glass covering the water color painting shows two tiny chips visible w and 1/2 inch north to south. hen shown at an angle change. In no way does this spoil the effect of the "eye".
The brooch measures 1 and 1/8 inch in width. Without removing the painting from the mounting we cannot be certain of the painting's surface--natural wafer or parchment. The "eye" itself is in lovely condition--no fading or discoloration.
