The pet owner was James Dick of Thornhill, England as inscribed on the collar's mounted brass plaque. Today, most pampered pets have computer disks implanted with the owner's name and address. Dog collars, such as this one pictured, were far more elegant.
As such, they make excellent collectibles. They take us back in history when pets were very much a part of the family as they are today.
This collar is in fine condition--worthy of being added to any collection or the start of a new collection.
