Lovely intricate filagree in a high crown is the perfect foil for an octagonal basket holding bright, white diamonds. The diamonds are set in a pave style. they weigh approximately one third of a carat. We estimate the diamond weight because they have not been removed from the mounting. Removing them could possible damage the mounting.
This type of setting was especially popular during the 1920s when white gold or platinum were most desirable fashion accessories. Jewelers sold thousands of rings like this one to young men on the verge of popping the question. It certainly could serve the same purpose today.
The ring is size six, but it is easy to size up or down. There is a hallmark too difficult to read, so the ring has been acid tested and shows 18k. It will rise 1/4 inch above the finger. It looks wonderful on the hand.
