Horner jewelry is among the most collectible items of the British Arts and Crafts movement. He is perhaps the best known designer for Liberty – a well-known London department store. Many of his silver pieces, such as this, were enameled in the vivid blue-green associated with the Arts and Crafts movement.
The pendant itself measures 2 ½ inches in length and is 1 ¾ inches wing to wing. The chain is 16 inches long. The enameled dangle hanging from the main part of the pendant is typical of many of Horner’s creations of the Arts and Crafts period.
It is a lovely example of the period and of Charles Horner’s work.
