This is an exceedingly rare brown French bebe made by Jules Steiner, Paris, France, circa 1892. Her bisque socket head is a beautiful dark warm brown color and free of all damage or restorations. Incised on the back A5 Le Parisien S. G. D. G.
Bebe has big chocolate brown inset glass eyes, a black curly skin wig with cork pate, open mouth with 4 porcelain teeth, pierced ears with gold/pearl bead earrings and the finest painting of lashes and closely set feathered brows. This little 11 1/2 inch girl has a fully jointed french body in a dark warm brown color that matches perfectly with her bisque head coloring. Original finish, generally excellent with age related wear and all fingers and toes present.
