I specialize in antique match safes/vestas.
This is a c. 1905 match safe featuring an image of a bloodhound on one side, the reverse is plain with a monogram. The bezel is marked "sterling" and the maker's mark for Unger Bros., Newark, NJ. This match safe was featured in Unger's 1905-06 trade catalog as item #3231. Its 2 7/8 x 1 1/2 inches with a steel saw-tooth striker to the bottom. The match safe is in very good condition with a strong lid spring. It has some small edge dents.
