I specialize in antique match safes/vestas.
This is a c. 1895 Japanese match safe with grouse feeding, both sides the same. Its made of patinated brass with gold and silver highlights. The patinated finish appears to be in almost unused condition. The match safe is 2 5/8 x 1 1/2 inches with a striker to the bottom. Its in excellent condition with a strong lid spring. It has a small seam split on the edge of the lid.
