I specialize in antique match safes/vestas.
This is a c. 1890 match safe in the form of a figural Kappa holding an egg, a Japanese mythological figure. The bezel is stamped "070" and an anchor plus Gorham, the maker's mark for Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, RI. It's silver plated, measuring 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches with a striker to the bottom. The match safe is in excellent condition.
