I specialize in antique match safes/vestas.
This is a c. 1904 match safe featuring a "Love's Dream" motif on one side, the reverse is plain. The bezel is signed "Sterling" and the maker's mark for Unger Bros., Newark, NJ. The interior is gold gilded. Its 2 3/4 x 1 7/8 inches with a steel saw-tooth striker to the bottom. This match safe was featured in Unger's 1904 trade catalog as item number 7039, Love's Dream. It is in excellent condition with a strong lid spring. There are a couple of tiny edge dings.
