I specialize in antique match safes/vestas.
This is a c. 1890 figural match safe in the image of a frog with bulging eyes. The front has a monogram. Its silver plated and the bezel is marked "045" plus the maker's mark for Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, RI. Its 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches and the design serves as the striking area. The match safe is in excellent condition with a strong lid spring.
