I specialize in antique match safes/vestas.
This is a c. 1900 match safe featuring an Art Nouveau motif of a female with a long, flowing dress surrounded by flowers on one side, the reverse is plain. The bezel is marked "Sterling" and maker mark is rubbed. Based on other examples, this match safe is signed with the maker mark for Aikin, Lambert & Co., New York, NY. Its 2 5/8 x 1 5/8 inches with a striker to the bottom. The interior is gold gilded. The match safe is in very good condition with a strong lid spring. It has some small edge dings.
