This is a c. 1900 match safe with a lion motif on one side, the reverse is plain with a fancy monogram. The bezel is marked "Sterling." It doesn't have a maker's mark, but based on its design characteristics it was probably made by Aikin, Lambert & Co., New York, NY. The interior is gold gilted. Its approximately 2 3/8 x 1 3/4 inches with a deep "V" striker to the bottom. Excellent condition with a strong lid spring, has a couple of minor edge dings.
