I specialize in antique match safes/vestas.
This is a c. 1895 Japanese book shaped match safe featuring an Asian man with a raised hand holding a bowl on one side and a water buffalo with a child playing a flute on the other. Its brass with its original patinated finish, approximately 2 3/8 x 1 3/8 inches with a striker to the inside of the lid. Excellent, lightly used condition.
