This is a c. 1872 silver plated match safe featuring a lightly chased design of a hunter with his dog and gun under a tree, same scene on both sides. The lower portion of one side is marked "Patd. Oct. 15, 1872, C. Parker." C. Parker is a reference to the Charles Parker Gun Company, Meriden, CT. Its approximately 2 5/8 x 1 3/8 inches with a striker on the seam at both the top and bottom edges. It also has a push button lid release. Excellent condition, has a ding the lower portion of the reverse side as can be seen in the photo.
