This is a c. 1900 silver plated match safe with an engraved thistle design plus 2 agate inlaid thistles, red and green colors, the reverse is plain and contoured. It has a ring for attachment to a chain or Albert just below the hinge, plus a thumb tab on the lid. Its approximately 2 x 1 5/8 inches with a recessed striker to the bottom. Excellent condition. This match safe was featured in the Portable Fire Exhibit presented by the Delaware Art Museum in 2014-2015.
