This is a c. 1900 match safe with an enameled emblem with the working tools of Blue Lodge Masonry-the Square, Compasses and enameled Letter 'G' in the center on one side. The reverse has the same edge design as the front with engraved initials in the cartouche area. The bezel is marked "Sterling" plus the F. S. Gilbert, North Attleboro, MA maker's mark. Its approximately 2 1/2 x 1 5/8 inches with a striker to the bottom. Excellent condition with a strong lid spring, has a couple of small edge dings.
