Large 1980s Nude Plaster Contemporary Sculpture/Statue By Ron Rudnicki
Ron was a masterful sculptor extending his work beyond the object into the surroundings both within the landscape and in architectural environments. Ron’s international travel gave greater depth and sensitivity to the creation of his sculpture and waterworks. His work has been exhibited at many museums and art centers as well as numerous private and public commissions with permanent installations at the DeCordova Sculpture Museum (Lincoln, Massachusetts) and Jack Lenor Larsen’s Longhouse Reserve (East Hampton, New York). Ron’s work received national recognition and was the recipient of many prestigious awards including the New York, Massachusetts, and American Horticultural Awards. The Boston Society of Landscape Architects honored him with their award quoting, “a true integration of art and the landscape where art literally becomes part of the landscape.” Through his talent and fiery soul, he transformed many outdoor living and museum spaces with his emphatic, vivid living installations. Even though his life was cut short, his stone sculpture could very well last for centuries.
It stands at 50" tall. The base is 15" by 15". Very heavy. Included are some of the artists gallery show info, a newspaper article, and a photo of home working on the sculpture. I believe this is made of a hard clay plaster. Good condition. Has some light scuffs and staining the could clean up. The finger on one hand is chipped, not too noticeable.
